FAQ

Q: What is Cardice?
A: Cardice is a trick-taking card game that adds a fifth suit — Bells — to the classic deck, creating a 65-card deck across five suits. Before every hand, a die roll decides trump — nobody at the table chooses it.

Q: How many players can play?
A: 2 to 6 players, either individually or as two or three partnerships of two.

Q: How is trump decided?
A: A special die is rolled before each hand. It can land on any of the five suits, or on an X for a no-trump hand. The roll determines trump for that hand only — trump isn't a player's choice.

Q: Why isn't every card dealt?
A: Each player is dealt 12 cards (or 10 when playing with six); the rest of the deck forms an unused stockpile for that hand. Not knowing what's sitting in the stockpile is part of what makes bidding a genuine gamble rather than pure math.

Q: How does bidding work?
A: There are two rounds of bidding per hand. Players (or partnerships) bid how many of the tricks they expect to win — no passing, and bids don't need to increase each round. Based on the other bids, you may adjust your own bidding in the second bidding round.

Q: How is scoring calculated?
A: Meeting your bid exactly scores points equal to the bid. Missing it — over or under — scores negative points. A full game runs 12 hands, for 144 possible points. If you bid null, and make the bid, this counts for 5 points.

Q: What is Kudos?
A: Kudos is Cardice's in-game currency. You start with a welcome bonus and can earn more through daily play, achievements, and bonus rounds.

Q: What is Cardice-Pro?
A: A one-time upgrade that removes ads and unlocks extra customization — including alternate deck modes, adjustable game length, and additional table and scoring options.

Q: Can I play offline or across devices?
A: Yes — Cardice is designed to work on web and mobile, and supports offline play.

Q: Is there a way to play with friends?
A: Yes — you can add friends, invite them to games, and compete on leaderboards.
